Probe for Windows Help: Update

Update calculates RZ1, RZ2, RZ3 total water contents, Deficit, Probe DWU, and any keydata rows with formulas.

Season(s) or site(s) can be updated

Normally columns are calculated only if they have new or changed values.
However, if Whole Season then all columns will be calculated.

will output the amounts required for each site for the whole season see here

Gain Options

Calculate PDWU during a gain

Probe DWU is the change in two measured RZ1, per day
However, if there are gains between the two readings, Probe DWU can be calculated allowing for the value of the effective gain.
Or it can be calculated from the previous ProbeDWU, or the Estimated DWU.

Calculate effective gains

The effective gain will be calculated after posting a gain with...

  1. ProbeMenu/Post Irrigations and Rain
  2. or ProbeMenu/Post Readings
  3. or FileMenu/Import/Keydata
  4. or manual entry of a gain on the readings screen

A specific effective gain can be re-calculated with...

  1. ReadingsMenu/EffectiveGain
  2. or ReadingsPopup/EffectiveGains (right click)
  3. or GraphPopup/EffectiveGains (right click)
  4. or change the delivered amount on the readings screen and

Re-calculate in Update and - all effective gains on the site will be re-calculated.
Chop gains to full point - After any gain, RZ1 will not be allowed to go above the Full Point (field capacity).
Any excess will be assumed to be through-drainage or surface runoff.

After the effective gain has been calculated the effective value can be changed by the user.
The value will not be re-calculated.

Multiple gains can be handled, with the effective gain calculated using DWU will be distributed to each gain.

To re-calculate multiple gains, enter each gain that needs to be calculated as a negative amount, and
In this example either 3.5 mm/day or 2.2 mm/day can be used, and effective rain and irrigations are both being re-calculated using DWU.
If ProbeDWU is calculated from effective gains, after ProbeDWU will be equal to the selected DWU.

This is how the effective value(s) of posted gain(s) are calculated.
